To Know Him and Make Him Known...

Many people believe that worship is singing…well it is, but it’s also so much more than that. Worship is our response to God’s holiness, mercy, and grace. Worship is a way of life…not just something you come to on Sunday morning or evening or even Wednesday nights. It is something you experiece each and every day of your life. Each day that our God gives us another breath we should honor Him and thank Him for it. In every blessing that is given to us we should remember who the giver is…praise Him, honor Him. True, authentic worship is a draw for people…both Believers and Unbelievers alike. It is a draw for people to see someone worshipping so passionatly. Unbelievers will not understand it, but they will wonder. People worship many different things in this world…everything from money and work, to relationships with others, boyfriends and girlfriends, popularity, to other gods! Why do people worship such things? What have those things ever done for you? Will those things rescue you from an eternity of torture and torment? Will those things rescue you from the separation from everything pure and holy? The answer is NO! The only thing that will rescue you from any of that is a relationship with the only True God…the one who sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the debt for the sin of the world. He is the only One worthy of worship, worthy of honor, worthy of glory. We all too often give away worship and honor and glory to easily…are the things that we give our worship to really worthy?

Hi, my name is Shaun Martin. I am the Associate Pastor of Worship Arts and Students at First Southern Baptist Church in Central City, Arkansas. I know, you’re asking yourself…where is Central City, Arkansas. Well….we are a suburb of Fort Smith, Arkansas. We are blessed to have a wonderful church here. This is the beginning of what I hope to be a communication line to my worship team, worship choir and others who just want to know what’s going on down here in Central City. Great to be here!
